{coldness}

   Last night, there was sleet.   Here where I live, we don't get much of that sort of stuff, so finding all the ice outside without the work of a sprinkler was like a snow day.   Chorus was canceled for today, because in the south, we don't plan on having winter wonderlands like the northerners do.   We're not all that prepared.   XD Kitty has to go, Grace Anna Rose

All-State Choir

   Two weeks ago, I was a member of an All-State choir.    And, no matter how exhausted I was, I have to admit that I enjoyed the experience.    Here are some things I learned: 1. There are no rules in music. For the All-State tests to get into the choir, yes, you have to get the music exactly right.   But once you're there, the conductor will add rests, fermatas, staccatos, and other such things to make it sound better. 2. There is always somewhere to pursue your dream. Our conductor told us that even Scotch Tape has a choir.   There's always somewhere to do what you love.   The choice is yours. 3. The music is now and the music is you. The notes written on the paper isn't the music.   It is an atlas.   It's not what we are.    We are the music.    (He proved this to us by ripping some music in half, btw.) 4. A choir is one voice, not many voices. You can't shine in a choir.   You're not supposed to.   You aren't a member of the choir, y
