Library Book Haul: 8/13/15

I went to the library for the first time in several months, and I as very glad I did.   They had many books that I was interested in reading.

I always try to treat my library books as distinguished guests, so they get the "royal treatment" in my reading nook.   My current visitors are making themselves cozy until I can read them after I'm finished with my schoolwork.   It's lovely to have books come a'calling.   ♥

  1. Three of those books are books that I love! (Harry, Miss Peregrine, and Behind the Masks.)

    1. I tried to read Miss Peregrine, but the cussing and inappropriate content lessened its charm. It was also really hard to get into. I ended up stopping less than halfway in. I haven't read Harry Potter yet, but I'll get to it! Behind the Masks was spectacular. It was different to other Dear Americas' I've read, and I was glad for a new feel. The ghost child was a bit strange, though. Usually Dear America bases its things on pure historical facts instead of superstition. It did add to the story, though.

    2. I remember that there were some things about that book that I really didn't like (the language drove me crazy) but once I got into the plot I was able to forgive the book for some of its shortcomings because the plot is this strange, crazy adventure that I loved. Behind the Masks was very good, but I also didn't like the ghost girl very much. Harry is wonderful!

    3. Maybe if it had just been cussing I could have dealt with it, but it had some super inappropriate jokes in there. I read The Fault in Our Stars and was able to deal with the cussing, but I didn't really like that book either.

    4. It's been a while since I read it so I only vaguely remember that, but I do remember that I didn't really like the protagonist until we met his love interest because she brought the best out in him and made him... I don't know. More fun. Plus I LOVED her character. I didn't read or watch TFiOS and I don't plan to. :)

    5. I'm sure the book is great once you claw your way through all the yucky stuff, but I wasn't willing to go any farther. ☺
